  Path: Classes :: Death Knights

The fearsome death knight, World of Warcraft's first Hero class, is not your average adventurer seeking to prove his or her worth on Azeroth's fields of battle. No longer servants of the Lich King, they begin their new calling as experienced, formidable adversaries, heavily armed and armored and possessing an arsenal of deadly and forbidden magic learned in the Lich King's thrall.

Poor death knights, I don't think anyone without one will ever love them :(

I only played one to 58 as I went through the entire starting quest series, so I can't comment on how cool they are for extended play, but they seem fun and the intro was one of the cooler things I've done in WoW.

Ow indeed, although I'm not a big fan of the class itself, I have to say the intro from leevl 55 to 58 until the event at LHC is really really cool.

Same here, stopped my DK at 58, parked him in thrallmar.

Up to 64 was a lot of fun. I'm still leveling and seems to be a blast in battlegrounds. Can't decide on blood or unholy. hmmm

Just associate Blood with single target DPS, and Unholy with AoE DPS.

I love Death Knight, it's my favourite class. Only thing I hate about it is how EVERYONE AND THEIR DOG HAS A DEATH KNIGHT which oversaturates the class base and makes it so that everyone thinks all Death Knights are morons.

I have to agree with Dash. I absolutely adore my Death Knight. It is my main character and nothing beats her. DKs have a bad rap though, which is saddening because I really feel they are a great class. I love everything about them, mechanics, looks, voices, and so on. They aren't for everyone though. But there are those of us out there who have found are niche with them. :)

Death Griping an enemy player will never get old, IMO.

I friggin' love My DK! I leveled my hunter to 55 I was super tempted to switch right away but made myself keep playing 'til 60. I then hit the DK scene and flew to 80 in a matter of a month. It's all that I love in a class... High DPS, High Armor, fun skills, and fast leveling. They're an absolute riot to play PvP with.
The only problem with them is they seem to be played by the majority of retard noobs. Someone gets to 55 with a character, then goes and makes a DK and for some reason decides that they'll go raid a random backwater town of the opposing faction, or go to their own faction's starting locations and ask every starting character if they need help...
I went straight to Outland with mine after the intro quests and I think if more of them did, they wouldn't have quite as much a bad rap...

And, still, they're just the least voted class. C'mon!

I love my death knight, she's probably my favorite character, and the fact that DPS-ing with her is a breeze is also a bonus.
The starting quests are epic, and they have a great leader (lol).
My complaint is the people who roll a DK and are "OMG I HAS DK NOW, I GOTZ TO TANK!" and rush into instances.
T_T Please, quest first, get the freaking hang of your spells, and don't give all of us a bad rep, thank you, have a nice day!

I can't believe it took so long, but the novelty is finally wearing off and many of my guildies are going back to their old mains.

My DK is 61, and will stay there for a good while. I'd delete her if I hadn't worked so hard to get her jewelcrafting up.

I don't have anything against the class, except when I'm in the 50-59 PvP bracket, but it's just not my cup of tea.

While the class is interesting, and it has quite a unique fighting system I feel like more could be done with it. Really though, the problem is the players. It's a powerful class wasted by an insane amount of people that don't know what they are doing. It's like having a cannon controlled by a toddler. However on the flipside the idea of hero classes are awesome, and I can't wait to see what the next one will be.

Were far too overrated to be honest and the novelty soon wore off after finishing the Acherus story line.
Many DKs are now just parked in Thrallmar.

The fact that DK rotations aren't overly complex (like TBC Afflic locks were) is the main source of the noobish player base i feel, why play a class where actually reading the tooltips is required.
That said 2 things :
Bring back the DK unholy blight AoE
QQ i miss my parry talent....im sooo squishy now :P

bad reputation due to people sharing their friends account just to make one and they have no idea how to play (Wiped on a 5 man and one guy said "Lol, DK doesn't know how to play, start at 55 but new to wow LOL" despite me playing this game for over a year now).

I like the idea of an almost unlimited supply of power through runes, I dislike spell casters because if you run out of mana your pretty much screwed but with runes they just recharge and runic power is easy to build up so with runes on cooldown I just use up all my RP until they've recharged.
