v4.5

Path: Game Content :: The Burning Crusade :: Voice Chat

Azeroth is alive with the sound of voices. For the first time, players are able to talk to each other in game with the use of the new Voice Chat feature. Also in this patch, aspiring moviemakers can now use their Mac to capture all the in-game action and share it with their friends.

I don't think I ever (ever) used the WoW voice chat.
It was Teamspeak at the beginning, and then Ventrilo in the las 3-4 years. Never even tried wow voice chat.

Same here, Soap. I wonder what it's like. I imagine it's more Teamspeak-esque than Ventrillo-like. Anyone able to weigh in who has used it much?

I find it useful for talking to my tech-ignorant cousins over WoW. They're quite phobic of even downloading addons.

Interesting. You vote very negative on something you've never even used? Very odd. Well I've use it quite a bit. I've even use it to create seperate guild channels. It work perfectly most of the time. Especially when in dungeons and such. Gets rather choppy when hanging around Dalaran though.

very un-used and buggy feature, tried it out on test realms and it was a massive dissapointment, sticking to ventrillo.

Used it on several occassions. Not as good as TS or Ventrilo but it works and I'm glad it is there as an _alternative_ to TS/Ventrilo (it was never meant to be a replacement!)

I used it to talk with my friend once. Once. Otherwise its off to keep random people from spamming static in my ears when they bind push to talk to W. (True story)

They devoted a whole patch to a system nobody ever uses? I'm really disappointed

Heh. The only thing in the game people like less than Garrosh.

used it once. lasted around 2 minutes. Ventrilo all the way since then.

Some of the new players don't even know there is voice chat in the WoW client. That says a lot.

Even though it was nice that they -finally- implemented a pretty standard feature in most mmos, to do it so badly removes any praise worthiness.

The sound quality is too poor, at best this is one of Blizzard's biggest jokes.

I wanted to like it, I really did...but Ventrilo was just so clearly superior that it wasn't even funny.
