The only server type I've ever played on. It can get tiring some times, but the random world pvp is part of the fun. Some of my most memorable moments from WoW have been because someone decided to jump me while I was questing.
This is the way World of Warcraft is meant to be played. By keeping the two warring factions artificially from attacking one another, it robs the game of some of the flavor that the underlying conflict provides. PVP realms might be frustrating sometimes, but when you stop a ganker dead in their tracks there's no better feeling.
To hell with PVP servers -.-
Leveling is already a bitch, I dont wanna be body camped for an hour because a high level has an orgasm because of it.
Most likely fun at max level but on the way there, its terrible
Playing on Normal servers always felt to me as exciting as playing FPS games with /godmode on. Yes, you do level faster but the excitement and suspense is gone.
Playing on PvP sever can be challenging, frustrating and often times tedious, but hell, this is the game about a conflict between two factions, where danger lurks behind every corner.
Many of my best memories and the stories I tell to non-WoWer's have to do with running through X zone when Y alliance player came up and did Z damage, sending my poor alt to an early death. Playing with the constant threat of getting destroyed out of nowhere (*cough* Hillsbrad Foothills *cough*) is half the fun!
I played on a PVP server for the first 4 years, but I found the fun of forced PVP was just not enough to counter all the times I got griefed. Being unable to complete quests because the other faction is around just plain is not fun. World PVP has its moments, but I'd like to be able to relax sometimes. On a PVE you can PVP in the battlegrounds and arenas just the same as anyone else.
What is the point of having a character covering purple pixels if you can't use it to go spank some noobs on the other side. I remember having a massive amount of fun by getting a group of friends and camping the Alliance respawn point for Naxx and just butchering wiped raids. I can sorta get why you wouldn't wan't to go through the pain of leveling on a PVP server buy one it's worth it in the end and two you can actually level a toon on PVE and transfer to PVP now.
I really enjoyed Playing on a pvp server but what i found annoying was when 70's at this time was max would just camp a rivals town crossroads for ex when there was clearly no challenge or benefit. You are trying to quest on an alt and you go to turn said quest in and the town is dead. I've never done this at max level on any of my toons i just don't see the draw. Fighting a char around my level in open world is fun but not the first. It is always the fresh 70's or 80's doing it they obviously have crap gear because you can see it, my first thing to do when i hit max level is always gear up enough to do raiding or heroics or even bg or arena i just don't get it.

You're either for it or against it....
Unless you hate it but don't mind the free epics.
Sadly, much of the game is balanced around it.
