Did you know? Who would have thought... Producing paper from recovered fibres consumes 60% less energy and 55% less water than manufacturing paper from virgin pulp. (Know you Paper Guide, NSW EPA 2004) Recycled paper creates 74% less air pollution, and 35% less water pollution. The more often a book or game gets reused, the less it needs to be manufactured, and the smaller its carbon footprint will be. In short, every swapped book is that much paper saved. It goes the same with plastic and metal and whatever chemicals used in the various items that get swapped every day. Based on the weight of the 4 books that have been traded on SwapEasy so far, we estimate that we've helped recycling: Over 3.64 Kg of paper! That only include books. It might not look like much, but we're doing our best :-) In fact, we're not the ones doing the actual recycling, we're just providing the platform for you to do so; So, on behalf of all the staff at SwapEasy, we would like to thank you. Thank you for saving the planet, one item at the time. ![]() |
