Maybe because I'm a healer, but I love this fight because it requires me to manage my resources carefully. However with higher gear levels its almost trivialized. This fight becomes a question of whether the melee can interrupt Vezax consistently.
Being a healer myself, this fight (especially hard mode) gave me more of a challenge than almost any other WotLK fight due to the mechanic regarding mana regen. When I went back as melee DPS, and also as a tank, I found the fight infinitely boring.
This fight had the potential to be entertaining from a conceptual standpoint, but the actual encounter doesn't deliver to its maximum potential. With the semi-recent, somewhat major (25%+) HP nerf the boss is a little more enjoyable since it doesn't quite hit the "why is this repetitive fight lasting so long" stage anymore.
Agreed, this fight had potential, but because of the repetitiveness AND having to rely on internet connections to effectively kick searing flames without fault, this fight is one of my more dreaded fights. Having to rely on outside forces that cannot be controlled (internet connections, lag, etc.) to interrupt a crucial mechanic really makes a fight unenjoyable.
Interesting trivia: General Vezax was recently confirmed to be the corrupted "missing" keeper of Ulduar, Tyr. In other words, what happens when Yoggy REALLY gets his tentacles up in you.
No, he wasn't "confirmed" to be Tyr any more than the same blue poster also "confirmed" that Vezax may have eaten Tyr, or that he may have merely taken over Tyr's room while he was absent.

The idea that you have to manage your mana is definetly a good one but just removing mana regen was a stupid way to go about. It causes massive differences in the effectiveness of different healer classes, and its just removing a major mechanic that healers are supposed to stack. 1 point for effore but thats it.
