Path: Playable Races :: Blood Elves

For nearly seven thousand years, the high elves cultivated a shining magical kingdom deep within the forests of northern Lordaeron. But five years ago, the undead Scourge invaded Quel'Thalas and drove the elves to the brink of extinction. Led by the evil death knight Arthas, the Scourge destroyed the mystical Sunwell, thereby severing the elves from the source of their arcane power. Though the scars of that conflict are evident, the remaining elves have banded together and retaken much of their homeland. Calling themselves "blood elves", these grim survivors are committed to regaining the vast powers they once commanded. Inspired by the leadership of their beloved prince, Kael'thas Sunstrider, the blood elves now seek out new sources of arcane magic and the means of defending their land against the undying horrors of the Scourge.

Blood Elves are a race with an amazing backstory to them. People may complain they all may be girls and all but they are not. Blood Elf's are one of my favorite races due to not only their looks, their story. A male blood elf can be seen more like a slim build.

Their home land is beautiful and wonderfully designed. The Blood Elf starting area is simply is one of the most well designed starting areas. The city itself, even though half of it has been destroyed is massive. The city was designed with an awesome idea in mind.

Oh, how the mighty have fallen. Despite being so awesome in WarCraft III, my mental image of blood elves has been forever ruined by its player base. Especially pre-80 blood elf death knights... I don't understand how some of them can be so... hopeless.

The Blood Elf player base has nothing to do with the race or it's lore. There are too many Blood Elves and it seems some of the other interesting Horde races are somewhat ignored, but I've always liked the relationship between the Blood Elves and the Forsaken; Two somewhat selfish races that have gained a mutual respect for one another on account of the hardships they have both had to endure. Blood Elves are a people with a lot of depth and inner strength.

The Horde didn't need a "pretty" race. Although I did like the very streamlined starting zones. Anytime I need to level a character from 1-20, I go to the BE starting zones.

I love the blood elves because they are the beautiful evil people. They fit in as a counterpoint to the rest of the horde, ugly and yet not evil (except those crazy forsaken people)

I love how devious and vicious Blood Elves are. behind the pretty facade hides true evil. Great counterpart to the noble hippie Night Elves.

I love Blood Elves for their rich lore and culture.
Most of my chars are Blood Elves, be it female because I'm not very fond of male BEs.
Despite the flood of Blood Elf chars, it's still my favorite race.
Just like the Death Knight has and will allways be my favorite class, despite the faceroll-period - which sadly brought our reputation to ground level.

The thing about blood elves i don't like is just how MANY of them there are. They are supposed to be a small force recovering from persecution, seclusion and addiction. out comes BC and BOOM they're everywhere. It ruins the lore for me.

Voice emotes are obnoxious; animations are prissy. I'd pick one over a human, gnome, or Forsaken, but that's it. My Horde paladin will be race-changed to tauren in Cataclysm.

personally i dont like blood elves, they walk around like they are all girls and they sound like they've been kicked in the private area one too many times. also their backgrounds were severely messed up by WoW, in warcraft 3 they were amazing and i loved them, not anymore.

The lore for blood elves is excellent, the models look nice...but there are just *too many* of them. >_> Not that my characters are helping that problem any.
