Seems like the Alliance has an overwhelming presence in AV at all times... At least in my realm :\ It's pretty much killed my ability to enjoy this bg, can't give it a good rating :( |

I think people vote higher on this city simply because it's the "Cool Kid" in town. I don't see much that's special about Dal other than being the Hub of activity in Northrend due to the trainers and portals. My 80s have their hearths here, simply for the portals to everywhere and grouping for heroics and raids, but that's it. If it weren't for Dal being the 80 hangout, I'd still hearth to Shat or Org. |

Definitely agree with the majority on this one. This city is way too open and the traveling time between points is ridiculous considering how much nothing you go past.
I like the ambiance of the city though, but it seems to be the Silvermoon of the Alliance in that no one ever populates it because it's not a central hub of anything. It's got a cool look, but low utility. |

IF beats out SW on my vote of "Best places to live - Ally edition." I wish IF would take over the main hub of Ally commerce. It's laid out so much better than SW and the tram system connecting the two should make it pretty easy to make the change. It's a bit darker (being an in-mountain Dwarven city) than the other cities but I prefer it. |

Once you learn the layout, Org is STILL a bit tricky to navigate at times. Keep in mind that some of the upper paths have towers that you can enter from the ground level to climb up... I miss those half the time :P
Despite any issues anyone has, Org is THE Horde Capital. Other than Dalaran, everyone travels here for just about any and everything. Always populated... |

I like Shat, it's too bad Dalaran had to move to town and take all of Shat's friends. I rarely find myself there anymore even when leveling in Outlands. I only go to Shat to port to another city. It's a shame since I think it's better laid out than Dalaran and has less migraine inducing lag than Dal too. The Aldor and Scryers have some good stuff to be had but by the time you grind out enough rep with them you're going to Northrend, so it kind of makes Shat moot... |

I personally love this city. It's gorgeous to look at and the layout really isn't hard to figure out even for first timers. It's a bit long-shaped so on foot it can take a bit of time to get to the back of the city.
I hate the fact that it's pretty much a ghost town except for the Belf starters and Rep grinders. Go there between lvls 20-70 and you're lucky to see anyone of the same lvl. |

Whenever I've played Alliance, SW is the hub of all Ally commerce, just like Org on the Horde side. I hate the layout of this city though. Everyone crams into the trade quarter which is right at the entrance so lag is nasty. Then there's the kind of Horseshoe shape with the holy users in the middle, separating the magic classes from the melee classes. The profession trainers are in random spots around the moats and not really logically laid out. Not a favorite city by any means... |

This is the one city on the whole list that I gave an Uncommon rating... It's so poorly laid out and so spread out it's just more convenient to fly or hearth/port to a different city (if you have Dal or Shat as your hearth :P). At least UC has the FP inside so you're close to everything when you land... landing at Exodar you then have to run down one of the never-ending ramps, the main one shows signs of civilization and gives hope to all but it's just the inn... You've gotta keep going down the ramp to reach everything else, which is then in the back of one of the three alcoves.
Exodar equates to Fail Town in my book. It is a pretty looking city though, no denial there. |

It's not as overpopulated at all times as Org or UC, and the layout is much easier to navigate than the two. It's a little wider spread though, so still takes a little time to get between points. But with the "Rises" named exactly what they have to do with, it's not too difficult. And again, a little fun can be had when Allys try to raid by using any kind of knockback skills and blowin' 'em off the rise :P |

This is one of those cities that you end up wearing the 'M' off your keyboard while navigating... And talking to the guards every other second to find a trainer or vendor or whatever. The ring setup is kinda neat, but having the entrances between the rings offset to each other increases time from running from outer to inner. Probably one of the hardest cities for the Alliance to raid due to this design which is good, but annoying for the rest of us ;P |

Just associate Blood with single target DPS, and Unholy with AoE DPS. |

I friggin' love My DK! I leveled my hunter to 55 I was super tempted to switch right away but made myself keep playing 'til 60. I then hit the DK scene and flew to 80 in a matter of a month. It's all that I love in a class... High DPS, High Armor, fun skills, and fast leveling. They're an absolute riot to play PvP with.
The only problem with them is they seem to be played by the majority of retard noobs. Someone gets to 55 with a character, then goes and makes a DK and for some reason decides that they'll go raid a random backwater town of the opposing faction, or go to their own faction's starting locations and ask every starting character if they need help...
I went straight to Outland with mine after the intro quests and I think if more of them did, they wouldn't have quite as much a bad rap... |

Hunter is the noob class of choice. They're the fastest levelers due to their high solo ability. Send in the pet to take aggro while you dish out a bajillion ranged DPS :D Wearing mail is an added benefit so you can take a hit, and if you need to melee you can 1h, 2h, or dual wield. Hunters have a lot of variety.
My first toon was a hunter... back when Orc Hunters were OP'd :D And my main right now is a hunter. |

I've never made it past lvl 15 as a priest... I just can't make myself stay with it when I end up getting killed by a same lvl cat or wolf.
I can see (and I would imagine anyone can) the value of Priests though. Of course they're a necessity in just about any group nowadays as the main healer/buffer. Paladins, Druids, and Shammies can heal sure, but to the same effect as a Priest...
They're the ultimate Support class... and that's why I can't lvl one :P |

BC was amazing. Keyword is "WAS." Now the WotLK is out and Northrend is available at lvl 68, it's just a 10 level passing zone... You hit 58... you hit Hellfire and do just about every quest. By the time you're done in Hellfire you can go Zangarmarsh, but since ZM sucks (IMO) go straight to Nagrand (my favorite questing zone to this day!) and level to 67 (or 68 if you're meticulous). One more level from anywhere and you're off to Northrend.
Shattrath was an amazing Capital City and Hub. And again, now that WotLK is out, Dalaran has replaced it... All that awesome lvl 70 gear is quickly replaced in a matter of a day or two in Northrend, so what's the point in running instances in Outland other than for the exp/gold?
Like I said. BC WAS amazing... now it's been reduced to just a stepping stone to Northrend. And that makes me sad... |

Anyone that's talking negative will end up missing it when Cataclysm comes out :P The changes are going to be HUGE!
And I definitely agree with Gunstrak. I Artifacted it immediately because Vanilla WoW was the original and before BC and WotLK is was already an amazing game and it did its job well... Here's to the future of Blizzard's Cash Cow :) |

I've had a blast in Northrend so far and I can only think it's going to get better as we go. I disagree with Smite when he says most of the gear is ugly, I think the majority of it looks amazing! I can take a break from questing or raiding or whatever it is I'm doing and just go through loot tables ot the WotLK dungeons and raids and try on the armor and weapons and dream :P
The only thing I don't like about Northrend is how hard it is for new new 80s to get started unless they have the help of a guild with a lot of similar folk. My DK hit 80 and I'm STILL working on getting him geared for raids just because of the amount of people that are either A) so overpowered that you get replaced in the group for them or B) when you do find a group, most of the group is comprised of plate and mail wearers so you end up losing out on most of the loot (So I guess if I manage to get my Druid, Mage, or Rogue to Northrend anytime soon I'll probly revamp this opinion :P) |

WHELP GROUPS, LEFT SIDE!!!
I love as a lvl 80 going back to Ony (not the new version) and soloing her... as long as you're not between Ony and her whelp eggs, you can wear her down over time all by your lonesome :D |

I rarely visit Silithus these days. Pre-BC it was awesome! But as soon as Outland made its appearance you'd lvl 58 and take a hike from Azeroth... Nowadays the only people found in Silithus are the rep grinders or the people who (somehow) don't have good enough gear to go straight to Outland and need a couple more levels. |

As soon as I hit 58 with any toon it's straight to Hellfire... I quest there and maybe do a couple in Zangarmarsh, but the second I can start questing in Nagrand I'm there. Nesingwary's back with his "Go kill 12 of this... ok now 12 of this... ok now go kill a boss one of those..." quests. But having some of the most inviting landscape imo helps me get passed the initial grind and into the meat of Nagrand. Having Halaa as a PvP city with its own perks when your faction holds it is a neat feature. The Ring of Trials, an outdoor arena for arguably one of the best weapons pre-Northrend for your character is awesome. And there's plenty of opportunities to group up and take down bosses in this area. I love Nagrand. |
